METHOD Detergent and Laundering Tips

Stain Removal

and

The Eco-Friendly
METHOD LAUNDRY DETERGENT

METHOD PRODUCTS:
www.methodhome.com

The previous article mentioned, METHOD “People Against Dirty”, is something of profound interest to me.
Today, I will detail the most important product to me,
as I do laundry everyday, throughout the day.

METHOD 3X Concentrated Detergent (Phosphate-free)

“free + clear”

  • coconut surfactants (biodegradable)

  • corn (plant solvent)

  • borate salt

  • coconut soap

  • plant based glycerin

  • purified water

  • *fragrant oils (in scented versions)

  • (non-animal) enzymes, stain removers

  • biodegradable brightening agents

  • *less than 0.1% preservative

Alas, I do not yet have a front load washing machine; however, even with this and every top-load machine I have owned/used…
I only require 1 1/2 teaspoons – 1 tablespoon of all METHOD Liquid Laundry Detergent products, for regular clothing or towels!

Please start with less detergent than what is suggested on the METHOD label, adjusting to your laundry’s dirt and oil saturation. Depending on the minerals and other compounds in your personal or town water supply/source, detergent requirements will fluctuate.

Always place LAUNDRY DETERGENT (of any type/brand) in Hot Water, prior to adding any laundry. Then, adjust temperature to type of washing after your detergent has diluted.

Towels will always necessitate the very Hottest of washing water, as you do not wish to cross-contaminate.

Delicates/lingerie/silks
require Cool Water Only.

Hot Water:
Kills germs, shrinks fabric, and can set-in stains. Pre-spot stains with cool water and your natural laundry detergent/natural spot remover, gently scrubbing/brushing fabric and allowing detergent to penetrate into moistened fabric.

Cool Water:
Does not remove mildew, does not remove odor, however will Not shrink fabric. Baking Soda in a pre-wash, can remove odor, prior to your (reg./normal) wash cycle. Again, allow the Baking Soda to dissolve in warm water prior to adding laundry. Soak in washer as needed to remove foul smell, up to an hour. Follow with full wash cycle, then with white Vinegar in rinse (which also removes all soap product residue from even prior laundering)!

My personal recommendations of the METHOD Liquid Laundry Detergents-

  • “Free + Clear” (for highly sensitive people)
  • “Sweet Water” (for general households)

*METHOD Laundry Products: Recommended/Approved by Front-Load and Eco Washing Machine manufactures
