The Air Purifying Qualities Of Plants

The Luminous, Air Purifying Qualities Of Indoor Topiary And Plants

With “modern-life” being determined more and more about how much time you spend inside (rather than outside) encapsulated in our homes, department stores/mall, and office buildings; Indoor Plants have become a necessity!

The horrific Hurricane Katrina and the notorious F.E.M.A. Trailers/Mobile Homes loudly demonstrate the need of purer air and the toll that Sick Building Syndrome has on the Human/Animal body.

Indoor Plants:
  • Cooling Effect, of temperature
  • Diminish Stress
  • Increase Humidity
  • Offer Filtration of dust/dirt from the environment
  • Oxygenate Internal/Room Air
  • Reduce Microbes in the setting/area
  • Remove (harmful) Positive + Ions
  • Secrete Beneficial Negative Ions

Yes, unlike it's friendly sounding name, it is the Positive Ions that we must drastically avoid, replacing our environments with Negatively Charged Ions, for both mental and physical health.

With indoor plants, be certain to cover topsoil with a porous material such as gravel, so that no soil is exposed. The purpose of this soil covering is to reduce the possibility of mold/spore production.

More information on Ions, the Healing Qualities and Types of Indoor Plants, and “Green Spaces” to follow in later articles.

Formaldehyde: In Life & After Death

Being Formaldehyde-free In Life and After Death

Sustaining the Eco-system now and after death: how is that possible? Through the use of Environmentally friendly coffins, burial, and least to overlook, chemical void practices preparing and storing the body are steps in this Green Process.

Whether the final destination for the body will take place on selected preserve land, specifically designated for renewal of earth, flora, and fauna; cremation, the spreading of ashes; or Ocean/Sea burial… choices abound over concrete, steel, and the seeping of chemicals into our soil and waterways.

Formaldehyde is the primary chemical used in conventional, Western/European style mortuaries and burials as an embalming fluid, placed into the drained veins where blood once flowed. Yet, little is mentioned to the public of this strangely spelled substance? Formaldehyde is an active, carcinogenic, nearly colorless, compound. This gas is in the top 25 most produced chemicals of the world.

Found as a preventative in storing grains (including oats and wheat), insecticide on crops, in the textile (cloth/clothing) trade, in pharmaceuticals (government-based prescriptions/medications), used in the rubber and plastic industry, freely airborne in plywood, laminate flooring, and located in the foam insulation in your attics and walls of home and office buildings; beware of this chemical!

Danger Signs of Formaldehyde Poisoning:

  • Nose Bleeds
  • Watery Eyes
  • Asthma Attack/Difficulty Breathing/Wheezing
  • Burning sensation in eyes, nose, or throat
  • Skin Rash
  • Unknown Fatigue
  • Vertigo

Unproven and so-called tested methods are available, with some research, for removing Formaldehyde in the home and workplace. One such “remedy” includes lemon juice, ammonia, and enclosing the toxic space for 3 days (having removed all living human, plant, and animal occupants prior).

If contact has occurred to a body, shower or at least change all clothing as soon as possible and consume (preferably fresh) Lime juice as an antagonist, in an area where fresh air is readily available.
